Vol. 16 Beauty from the inside ✨
Happy New Year everyone 🎍
I am grateful that last year, the Year of the Dragon, which was said to bring challenges to me as a woman born in the year of the dragon, ended safely and that this year has started without flaws. The biggest challenge for me last year was the five days when my mother, who is too naive, was visiting with her bestie (lol). Whether last year was a great year or not, let's work hard together again with renewed spirit.
In the last column, I explained about blemishes that can be seen from the outside. In this month's issue, which marks the beginning of the new year, I would like to talk a little about my thoughts on beautiful skin, with the theme of beauty coming from the inside.
When you are young, you have beautiful and perfect skin without doing anything. Technically speaking, normal skin type refers to skin that is perfectly balanced. In other words, it refers to young skin before puberty. After puberty, most people are divided into oily skin, dry skin, and combination skin. And after the age of 30, collagen production starts to decrease, and after the age of 40, when hormone balance changes significantly, the signs of aging become more and more different for each individual.
Of course, external care becomes more essential as you get older, and I think that those who take good care of their skin are able to maintain the radiance of their skin. But is that all? I think. I think that skin is very honest and is also a mirror of the mind and body that honestly tells us what is going on inside of the body and mind.
For example, people who are constantly stressed (or people with poor eyesight) tend to develop wrinkles between their eyebrows and have a gloomy expression. Stress hormones also do not have a good effect on the skin. I have always had hives when I feel a lot of stress.
Also, the words "already" and "I'm already XX years old anyway" are the flip side of the person's view of getting older as a negative thing. I think that negative image leads to a lack of confidence in their expression.
If you think carefully about the meaning of the word "age" as just a "number," it actually makes no sense, but I wonder if it's okay to think of it as the number of years since the date of manufacture of the body. As I said before, the mind only grows, it does not age. Therefore, there is no need for the mind to age according to the age of the body. If you can keep your mind shining forever, it will show on the outside. If you do that, laugh lines will be beautiful, and some blemishes can be covered by the radiance of your facial expression.
People who want to be beautiful may have complexes, or they want to stay beautiful and happy forever, or they may be in love, and they may want to face themselves and improve themselves. I think that is what it means to be beautiful from the inside.
A friend of mine who is the same age as me said this the other day.
"I love the way I am as an old lady."
When she says "old lady," she means her current state of mind. "I have peri menopausal symptoms, my skin is sagging, and I'm spending more money on beauty, but I'm confident in myself for having worked hard so far, and my mind is happy." The way you feel changes the radiance that appears on the outside.
While treating my clients, I sometimes send messages to persistent spots saying, "Go away! You don't need to produce so much melanin!" (laughs) I want to unconsciously convey that feeling to my clients and control them from the melanocytes by appealing to their minds! This is my humble wish. So I think that the anxiety of my clients thinking, "Oh, I'm going to get spots again," is counterproductive to spots. This is a psychological leap, but "preconceptions" are very important.
Summary: Whether you undergo beauty treatment or not, if you are happy in your heart, you will look radiant.
No matter how old you are, even if life has its ups and downs, let's make 2025 a year in which your heart and skin shine with the spirit of "I'm still XX years old."
P.S. I'm sorry if I've caused any discomfort to those who have skin or mental disorders that can't be cured with "intention." I don't have a severe condition myself, but I've had both for a long time, so I can really imagine how difficult and painful it must be for you. This time, I'm not talking about people who have a rosy life, but rather about how to overcome any obstacles and always stay positive, so I hope you will understand.
