Vol. 15 Explanation of skin pigmentation treatment Part 2

December is here again. What has 2024 been like for you? Well, since last month, I have been explaining about skin pigmentation treatment. I will explain why there are so many different treatments and why the spots that have disappeared once come back, for each type of spot.

Last time, we talked about the structure of the skin and skin pigmentation close to the surface of the skin, freckles, senile lentigo, and seborrheic keratosis. This month, we will talk about deep skin pigmentation, treatments for each of them, and home care.

Post Inflammatory hyper pigmentation

This is a type of skin pigmentation where melanin is produced from melanocytes due to inflammation caused by wounds, etc., causing the skin to turn brown. You may have experienced brown skin after inflammation of the skin, such as burns, mosquito bites, acne, dermatitis, or treatment that damages the skin. This is usually temporary and may disappear in a few months without any treatment, but it will worsen if exposed to ultraviolet rays, so you can recover faster by taking measures against sunlight and using whitening serums and whitening supplements. Laser treatment can improve the condition even faster by destroying melanin using a QSwitched Nd Yag laser. From my experience, the sooner you treat inflammatory pigmentation, the faster it will improve.

Melasma

Hormonal changes cause melanin to be produced by melanocytes, resulting in a hazy, dull background on the skin. It appears symmetrically on both sides, but the degree of Melasma varies depending on your lifestyle or hairstyle. (For example, people who drive a lot or whose hair always covers only on the left side will have darker melasma on the right side.) Also, people who take oral contraceptives or have an IUD in their uterus are prone to develop melasma.

Unfortunately, melasma cannot be cured completely with laser treatment, but it can be controlled to a great extent with proper home care and regular laser treatment. Take thorough measures against ultraviolet rays. Those who incorporate a whitening serum containing ingredients that suppress the activity of melanocytes into their skin care routine and continue regular maintenance with the Q Sqitched Nd Yag laser have much more control over their melasma than those who do not have it, so they can wear lighter and lighter makeup. The Q Sqitched Nd Yag laser not only reaches deep into the skin and destroys melanin, but also has the effect of controlling the distribution of melanin distributed by the tentacles of melanocytes, so by continuing, you can create skin that is less prone to blemishes. In addition, those with severe melasma can first remove the blemishes with a chemical peel, and then go for a maintenance laser. Chemical peels have downtime, but they will bring you much faster results within a month. This is not only effective for melasma, but also for post-acne pigmentation, acne, skin texture, and open pores. Age spots are living things, and each person's melanocytes have different habits, and the type of melanin varies depending on race, so we aim to provide more effective treatment by learning about each person's melanocyte habits and deciding on the treatment content, frequency of treatment, and skin care products.

We talked about various things about skin pigmentation treatment for two months.

Skin pigmentation treatment requires two approaches: 1. Removal of existing age spots, and 2. Control of melanocytes that continue to produce melanin. Even if removal is not difficult, it takes time to control the melanocytes underneath. Even if the spots are removed, it is often disappointing to find that melanin appears again from underneath as the skin turns over. Skin pigmentation treatment is not something that is finished with one treatment after removed, but it is important to continue to control the melanin produced by melanocytes and create skin that is less likely to produce excessive amount of pigment.

Many of our customers enjoy their lives by playing golf, tennis, surfing, etc. My role is to help them enjoy such lifestyles without hesitation through treatment.

Understanding the characteristics of tyeps of pigmentation and providing effective treatment and care is the first step towards beautiful skin.

The road to beautiful skin isn't achieved in a day.

So, everyone, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's holidays ❤️
